Description:

SUMMARY

The Van Driver ensures Day Program and Supported Employment Employees are transported to and from programs in a safe manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Operates agency vans in a safe, defensive manner that complies with driving laws for Pennsylvania and Maryland.

Adheres to the set schedule of pick up and delivery of employees, unless otherwise arranged.

Sees all passengers of the van are seated and use the provided seatbelts.

Check the vehicle assigned to them on a regular basis. This includes:

Check gasoline level

Check oil level

Check brake fluid

Check transmission fluid

Check belts

Check windshield washer fluid

Clean vans weekly both inside and out

Check tire pressure and condition

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Valid Driver's License

TRAINING Must complete all mandatory agency trainings and receive ongoing training as required by state regulations.

5:30 am - 9:00 a.m. and 2:30p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
